Mashed Potato Recipe


  • 1kg Coliban or Russet potatoes
  • ½ cup hot milk
  • 80g butter
  • Black pepper
  • Sea salt


  1. Wash and peel the potatoes and then cut them into quarters. Place them in a saucepan and cover the potatoes with salted water . Simmer until the potatoes are soft and tender (but not breaking up).
  2. Mash the potatoes using a potato masher. As you are mashing, mix in the butter until it is fully blended.
  3. Add the hot milk and stir it into the potatoes. Mix vigorously with a large spoon until the potatoes are fluffy.
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste.
